Due to lockdown imposed in China Indian students felt stuck with agonising wait for their study in China. Finally, the Chinese Embassy in India announced a relief to issue China visa to those who are stranded offshore since the striking of whooping pandemic COVID-19 over two years ago.
China has restarted the visa application process for people from India after a period of 18 months without visa request on November 2020, when China effectively banned Indian visas and flights. The Chinese Embassy in India has posted a notice on its website stating that foreign individuals and their relatives who want to return to China to work and produce in all fields can apply for visas. It does not mention whether Indian students can apply for visas to return to China. The notice also says that visa applications for tourism and other private purposes are currently on hold. China agreed to allow some Indian students to return to China in April after Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to India. The Indian side has already sent a list of students to the Chinese side who can return to China. According to Prasar Bharati Beijing, the issue is still pending.
