During a run of PlateUp!, you’ll have to choose a lot of cards. So, it’s helpful to know which ones to watch out for.
PlateUp! is a fun restaurant game that you can play alone or with friends. Every day that goes by, you have more people to serve. But that’s not the only thing that’s hard. Every few days, you have to choose one of two cards. These cards will change the way your restaurant works for good. The card might give customers a new meal option, or it might mess up the cooking process in some way.
During your run, the cards you choose can make or break your chances of making it to the last day. They never make things better. You will always have to choose between two bad things. The cards you choose from are always picked at random, so most of the time it comes down to luck. But here is a list of cards that are more forgiving and should be chosen if they come up.
Black Coffee

This dessert choice is a huge relief in a game where you have to keep track of a lot of different recipes and processes. To make coffee, you have to choose the machine, pick up a cup, and put it back down so the machine can fill it. The process is simple and doesn’t take much time. Also, there is no way to clean it up. Maybe the customers think it’s a cup they can eat, because when they leave, they don’t take their mugs with them.
It’s not great to have a dessert that makes a customer stay longer. But if you have to choose just one, Black Coffee is a better choice than more complicated desserts like ice cream. Plus, each customer gives it a few extra coins, which is always a plus.
Mashed Potato

Most of the time, side dish cards are a pain. You should always make sure there are enough servings ready. Mashed Potato is one of the more difficult options for a starter to make. If a customer wants mashed potatoes in the morning, it can be stressful at first, but once they are ready, you don’t have to worry about making more for a long time. This is because it’s big enough to feed 20 people.
Fill a pot with water and put a potato in it to make mashed potatoes. You don’t have to worry about it burning on a stovetop. After that, cut up the potatoes in the pot, and it’s ready to eat. Since there are so many portions, it’s easy to do what a customer wants.
Closing Time?

Everyone wants to rush through the door to try your food because it’s so good. Once it’s time to close? card is picked, as long as there are still people in the restaurant at night, there is a chance that more people will come in and be seated.
The number of people who come because of this card is not as high as the number of people who come because of the Morning, Lunch, and Dinner Rush cards. Those cards are a lot to keep track of. A long line of angry customers can make it easy to lose. Time to close? Sometimes it just gets you a few more customers. Near the end of your shift, it’s much more likely that you’ll be ready for any orders.
Photographic Memory

With Photographic Memory, you won’t be able to see a customer’s order if you’re not right next to them. This does mean that you need to talk to your friends when you play with them. As long as they are clear about what they want, this card shouldn’t be a problem.
When there are a lot of menu items, Photographic Memory can be hard. So, the best way to stop this from happening is to keep your menu as simple as possible. For example, if you’re doing a basic pizza run, everyone will always order the same meal. Even though you can’t see their order on the screen, it doesn’t matter. You already know what it is.
Splash Zone

With the Splash Zone card, customers will make messes over a larger area instead of just right by their seats. When you walk through a spill, it’s annoying because it slows you down. But these messes only become a big problem when they pool up into big puddles. Splash Zone doesn’t make more mess, unlike some other cards that do. Spreading it out more helps because smaller puddles are easier and faster to clean up.
Also, you can buy a lot of helpful blueprints to get rid of the mess for good. With a few kitchen floor protectors, rugs, or robot mops, you will soon forget you have this card. It’s easy to make the Splash Zone card useless as your run goes on.
Formal Theme

You will always choose your theme card after your fifth day at the restaurant. Right now, you can choose between four cards: Affordable, Charming, Exclusive, and Formal. With these cards, you can figure out what kinds of decorations you can buy during the game. They also give you some useful benefits that will help you live longer. Formal is the best choice out of the four when you have a choice.
The Formal Theme makes you feel like you’re in charge of a fancy restaurant where everyone wants to eat. Customers will make less of a mess at level one. At level two, customers wait for their food with more patience. At level three, customers won’t make any more mess. This is very helpful. Mess can quickly become too much, so getting rid of it completely is very helpful. It also means not spending too much money on blueprints about cleaning.
Blindfolded Chefs

In a game about food, you have to be able to see what you are doing in the kitchen. When you pick this card, you’re not really blindfolded, though. All the Blindfolded Chefs card does is hide the progress bar for all cooking processes. You won’t be able to see, for example, how long it takes to chop tomatoes.
Almost nothing bad could happen if you pick this card. Some recipes on the hobs can be hard to time because of this. But 8 Ball Pool game will still tell you when a dish is about to get too hot and burn. As long as you watch what you are cooking, this card won’t hurt your chances of being successful.
Discounts

With the Discounts card, you will make 25% less money from each order. This isn’t too much of a loss, since the discounts won’t stop you from buying more blueprints. It’s not the end of the world, either. You can also get around this by using the Booking Desk to call customers in early and charge them a little extra.
Having a slow way to make money isn’t the best, but most of the time, it’s better than other cards that are more dangerous.
High Standards

If you have the High Standards card, food will go bad 100% faster than usual. This might seem like a risky card to pick, but if you are careful, you can handle it. If you don’t leave the stove alone when something is cooking, you’ll be fine. You have even less to worry about if you use Smart Grabbers to fully automate the cooking process late in the game.
Getting a Safety Hob or a Microwave is a great idea if you choose this card. With these plans, there is no chance at all that food will catch on fire. You might want to avoid using the Danger Hob because it also speeds up how fast food burns.
Simplicity

In this cooking game, it’s important to keep your blueprints up to date. Most of the time, you use the research desk right at the start of the day to improve a blueprint in the blueprint cabinet. With the Simplicity card, each desk can only be used once.
Most of the time, you won’t use a desk more than once, no matter what. So this card doesn’t have much of an effect. You can’t improve an item more than once a day with a research desk, though. When Simplicity is an option, it’s always great because it won’t slow you down.
